Sustainability schemes and grants

The Boiler Upgrade Scheme is a grant provided by government to cover part of the cost of switching from a fossil fuel heating system to a heat pump or biomass boiler. You can get up to £6,000, depending on the change you are making. 

The new system must reach specific efficiency levels and have a capacity less than 45kWth to be included in the grant. 

To be eligible for the grant, you must own the property and have made or plan to make the switch from a fossil fuel heating system after 1 April 2022. The property itself also has to meet a set criteria based on the change you wish to make.
