We have developed excellent partnerships with local authorities to change the culture of planning and provide accessible, open and transparent online planning services to citizens and professionals.

Around 90 per cent of applications are now submitted online. With financial and resource constraints on both central and local government, we need to tackle further obstacles to realise a truly online planning service.

This section offers practical information and resources to support local authorities working with us.

Use the panel on the right hand side to sign in to the Planning Portal, access submitted applications and update your local authority contact details.

Below you will find a link to our Knowledge Hub group, information about how we can support development management teams and details on how you can get in contact with us.

Common causes of invalid planning applications

The Planning Portal is working hard to address this by asking all local authorities who do not offer their own plans or have a preferred supplier to direct users to the Planning Portal Buy a Plan service.
