Biodiversity Net Gain
On-site and off-site improvements
On-site and off-site improvements can be secured to meet biodiversity targets. On-site refers to any land within the boundary of the project (the red line boundary on your site map). Off-site relates to any land outside of the defined boundary.
It is expected that developers will prioritise on-site gains, shifting to off-site gains when the required gains cannot be achieved on-site. As such, biodiversity units have a higher price than other biodiversity gains on the market.
Significant on-site gains are expected to be secured for a minimum of 30 years.
